ERIE, Pa. – The Shepherd University men's golf team shot a first-round total of 312 to rank tied for sixth place in an 11-team field at the Bud Elwell Fall Classic at the Whispering Woods Golf Club on Sunday. Gannon has the first-round lead with a 295. The Shepherd women's team had three competitors at the Michael Corbett Fall Classic at Whispering Woods. The events are hosted by Gannon University. 

The men were led by sophomore Nop Satijavitisarn (Yannawa Bangkok, Thailand/International Community School) who shot a 75 to tie for 10th place. Sophomore Morgan Dehoff (Rohrersville, Md./Boonsboro) and senior Chris Neighbors (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) each fired a 77 to tie for 18th place. They were followed by sophomore Dylan Byers (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro) (78, T-25th), sophomore Trey Rios (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) (83, T-41st), and freshman Jimmy Goldsborough (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) (86, T-50th).  

Sophomore Sara Veara (Berkeley Springs, W.Va./Berkeley Springs) shot a 79 to tie for sixth place to lead the women. She was followed by senior Olivia Rosick (Purcellville, Va./Woodgrove) (92, T-42nd) and sophomore Ryley Bolyard (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville/Meredith College) (132, 61st). 

The Rams return to action on Monday for final-round action.
