SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (14-14, 9-5 PSAC East) dropped a four-set match with East Stroudsburg (21-6, 13-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Saturday. The Warriors recorded a 25-23, 21-25, 25-20, 25-16 win.
Junior middle blocker/right side Joi Fairweather (Tamarac, Fla./Calvary Christian Academy) led the Rams with 14 kills. Junior middle hitter Renee Killough (Bloomery, W.Va./Hampshire) had nine kills, while sophomore middle hitter Jianna Scott (Bolivar, N.Y./Bolivar-Richburg) posted four blocks.
Senior setter Victoria Nicholes (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) recorded 34 assists and 12 digs. Senior libero Claire Ellis (Louisa, Va./Saint Catherine's School) recorded a season-high 32 digs and two aces. Freshman outside hitter Jordan Pryor (Middletown, Md./Middletown) added 12 digs.
Sidney Stone had 12 kills, while Anna Coulter and Kaylee LoPresto each added 11 to pace the Warriors.
The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they travel to East Stroudsburg for a 7 p.m. match in quarterfinal action of the 2023 PSAC Volleyball Championship.
