BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Shepherd University (12-13, 7-4 PSAC East) downed Bloomsburg (8-16, 4-7 PSAC East) in four sets in PSAC East volleyball action at Bloomsburg on Friday night. The Rams recorded a 26-24, 27-29, 25-16, 26-24 victory.
Junior middle hitter Renee Killough (Bloomery, W.Va./Hampshire) had 15 kills and junior middle blocker/right side Joi Fairweather (Tamarac, Fla./Calvary Christian Academy) added 14 to lead the Rams. Killough also added four blocks.
Freshman outside hitter Jordan Pryor (Middletown, Md./Middletown) had 12 kills and 16 digs, while freshman outside hitter Amya Davis (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) also contributed 12 kills.
Senior setter Victoria Nicholes (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) posted 45 assists, 13 digs, and four aces. Senior libero Claire Ellis (Louisa, Va./Saint Catherine's School) had a match-high 27 digs and three aces.
Dollie Byrd had 15 kills and Emily Jackson added 11 to lead the Huskies. Tayla Miller added 18 digs.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Lock Haven for a 1 p.m. contest.
