SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va.  – Lauren Kirsch had 28 points and Katelin Starr added 22 to lead Bloomsburg (9-13, 7-11 PSAC) to a 79-70 win over Shepherd University (1-22, 1-17 PSAC) in PSAC women's basketball action at  the Butcher Center on Saturday. 
Sophomore guard Meghan Shipley (Middletown, Md./Middletown) led the Rams with 19 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Shipley connected on 7-of-16 field goals with a 5-of-7 effort from three-point range. 
Sophomore guard/forward Sydney Bolles (Elkview, W.Va./Charleston Catholic) added 12 points and junior guard Kendal Haggerty (Frederick, Md./Urbana/CCBC) scored 11. Sophomore forward Neresha Miller (Landover, Md./DuVal/Alderson Broaddus) posted a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. 
Emma Gochnauer added 11 points for the Huskies. 
Bloomsburg had a 40-30 lead at the break.
Bloomsburg had a 63-46 advantage after three quarters. Shepherd rallied to cut the lead to a single digit in the fourth quarter, but the Huskies held on for the win. 
Shepherd shot 40.6 percent (26-64) from the floor with an 18.8 percent (3-16) performance from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit on 62.5 percent (15-24) of their free throws. 
Bloomsburg shot 46.4 percent (26-56) from the floor with a 42.1 percent (8-19) effort  from three-point range. The Huskies shot 86.4 percent (19-22) from the foul line. 
Bloomsburg had a 37-36 edge in rebounding. The Rams forced 11 turnovers and committed seven. 
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host West Chester for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
