LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Alana Robinson had 16 points and eight rebounds to lead Lock Haven (8-13, 6-10 PSAC) to a 70-43 win over Shepherd University (0-21, 0-16 PSAC) in PSAC women's basketball action at Lock Haven on Saturday.
Junior guard Kendal Haggerty (Frederick, Md./Urbana/CCBC) led the Rams with 12 points. Haggerty was 4-of-4 from three-point range.
Junior guard Madison Mertz (Maugansville, Md./North Hagerstown) added 10 points and grabbed a team-high six rebounds. Sophomore guard Meghan Shipley (Middletown, Md./Middletown) added seven points, while sophomore guard Jordan Carr (Charles Town, W.Va./Jefferson) tossed in six.
Carly Fitzmorris added 15 points and Taylor Leidy had 12 for the Bald Eagles.
Lock Haven had a 34-18 lead at the break.
Shepherd shot 34 percent (16-47) from the floor with a 26.3 percent (5-19) performance from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit on 66.7 percent (6-9) of their free throws.
Lock Haven shot 50.9 percent (28-55) from the floor with a 35.3 percent (6-17) effort from three-point range. The Bald Eagles shot 66.7 percent (8-12) from the foul line.
Lock Haven had a 34-27 edge in rebounding. The Rams forced nine turnovers and committed 19.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Mansfield for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
