Shepherd Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Bloomsburg

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Five Huskies scored a pair of goals to lead Bloomsburg (4-2, 1-0 PSAC East) to a 13-5 win over Shepherd University (3-4, 0-3 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at Ram Stadium on Wednesday. 

Freshman attacker Holly Poe (Sykesville, Md./Century) led the Rams with a game-high four goals. 

Sophomore midfielder Katie Paredes (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) added a goal, while junior midfielder Kaiya Edwards (Brogue, Pa./Red Lion), junior attacker Shanna Dextradeur (Middletown, Md./Middletown), and freshman attacker Rebekah Forney (Walkersville, Md./Mount De Sales) each added an assist. 

Haley Williams, Cassidy Griffin, Kate Roberts, Madison Coyle, and Kelsey Clauss each tallied a pair of goals for the Huskies. 

Bloomsburg had an 8-0 lead at halftime. 

Senior goalkeeper Hailey Bennett (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) recorded 12 saves for the Rams. Laura Foley posted nine saves for the Huskies. 

Bloomsburg had a 32-18 advantage in shots with a 25-14 edge in shots on goal. Shepherd was 16-of-21 in clears while Bloomsburg was 15-of-18. Bloomsburg had a 13-9 edge in draw controls and a 21-20 advantage in ground balls. 

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Frostburg State at 2 p.m.
