Shepherd Women’s Lacrosse Falls to #8/11 East Stroudsburg

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Shepherd University (5-5, 1-4 PSAC East) dropped a 13-5 decision to #8/11 East Stroudsburg (6-2, 2-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at East Stroudsburg on Saturday. 

Junior attacker Shanna Dextradeur (Middletown, Md./Middletown) scored a pair of goals to lead the Rams. Junior midfielder Kaiya Edwards (Brogue, Pa./Red Lion), sophomore midfielder Katie Paredes (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora), and sophomore attacker Kelsey King (Fallston, Md./Concordia Prep) each added a goal.                                                            

Junior midfielder Paige Stoner (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) had two assists, while Dextradeur added another. Stoner added four ground balls and four draw controls. 

Emily Mitarotonda had five goals and an assist to lead the Warriors. Madison Bagatta and Hannah Schiemer each added three goals. 

East Stroudsburg had a 6-4 lead at halftime. 

Senior goalkeeper Hailey Bennett (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) recorded 13 saves for the Rams. Riley DiFiore (9) and Bella Gismondi (1) combined to post 10 saves for the Warriors. 

East Stroudsburg had a 26-17 advantage in shots with a 26-15 edge in shots on goal. Shepherd was 14-of-22 in clears, while East Stroudsburg was 14-of-17. The Warriors had a 13-8 edge in draw controls and a 32-21 advantage in ground balls. 

The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Millersville for a 4 p.m. contest.
