MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Shepherd University (5-6, 1-5 PSAC East) dropped a 15-11 decision to Millersville (6-3, 3-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at Millersville on Wednesday.
Junior attacker Shanna Dextradeur (Middletown, Md./Middletown) had three goals and an assist to lead the Rams. Junior midfielder Kaiya Edwards (Brogue, Pa./Red Lion) added three goals, while sophomore midfielder Katie Paredes (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) added two goals and an assist.
Freshman attacker Holly Poe (Sykesville, Md./Century) contributed a pair of goals and junior attacker Sam Lassahn (Baltimore, Md./Concordia Prep) added a goal and an assist. Junior midfielder Paige Stoner (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) chipped in with an assist.
Rachel Kenney and Liv Genovese each recorded six goals to lead the Marauders.
Millersville had an 8-6 lead at halftime.
Shepherd outscored Millersville, 5-1, in the third quarter to take an 11-9 lead. Five different players scored for the Rams during the run with Paredes recording a goal and an assist.
Millersville went on a 6-0 run in the fourth quarter to secure the win. Keeney and Genovese each had three goals during the run.
Senior goalkeeper Hailey Bennett (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) recorded six saves for the Rams. Morgan Scott posted 10 saves for the Marauders.
Millersville had a 28-26 advantage in shots. Shepherd was 12-of-14 in clears, while Millersville was 13-of-15. The Rams had a 21-20 advantage in ground balls.
The Rams return to action on Saturday, April 8 when they travel to Bloomsburg for a 2 p.m. contest.
