KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Sam Graf had three goals and an assist to lead Kutztown (3-0, 1-0 PSAC East) to a 10-6 win over Shepherd University (3-3, 0-2 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at Kutztown on Wednesday.
Junior midfielder Paige Stoner (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) scored two goals and freshman attacker Rebekah Forney (Walkersville, Md./Mount De Sales) added a goal and an assist to lead the Rams.
Junior midfielder Kaiya Edwards (Brogue, Pa./Red Lion), sophomore attacker Kelsey King (Fallston, Md./Concordia Prep), and freshman attacker Holly Poe (Sykesville, Md./Century) each netted a goal. Junior attacker Shanna Dextradeur (Middletown, Md./Middletown) contributed an assist.
Shannon Lake and Lailah Elbouazzaoui each netted a pair of goals for the Golden Bears.
Kutztown had a 6-2 advantage at halftime.
Senior goalkeeper Hailey Bennett (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) recorded 17 saves for the Rams. Jenna Blesson posted seven saves for the Golden Bears.
Kutztown had a 34-23 advantage in shots with a 27-13 edge in shots on goal. Shepherd was 21-of-26 in clears while Kutztown was 17-of-21. Kutztown had a 16-3 edge in draw controls while Shepherd had a 20-18 advantage in ground balls.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Bloomsburg for a 3 p.m. contest.
