BLOOMSBURG, Pa. -- Shepherd University (24-18, 7-15 PSAC East) split a pair of games with Bloomsburg (15-25, 9-11 PSAC East) in PSAC East softball doubleheader action at Bloomsburg on Sunday. Shepherd rallied for an 18-16 triumph in game one while Bloomsburg grabbed a 4-2 win in the nightcap. 
Bloomsburg took an 8-0 lead in the second inning in game one. Emma Little hit a grand slam to key the rally. 
Shepherd got a two-run homer from senior outfielder Kylie Condon (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) in the third to cut the lead to 8-2.  
After Bloomsburg added a run in the third, Shepherd scored two runs in the fifth on a two-run homer by senior outfielder Hannah Beeler (Greencastle, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim) to cut the lead to 9-4. 
Bloomsburg added a run in the fifth before Shepherd rallied with five runs in the sixth to cut the deficit to 10-9. Freshman catcher Camdyn Noland (Summit Point, W.Va./Washington) hit a two-run blast to key the rally. 
The Huskies answered back in the bottom of the sixth with six runs to take a 16-9 lead. Taylor Kranzley had a two-run double to fuel the rally.  
Shepherd plated seven runs in the top of the seventh to tie the game. Purtell and Noland each had two-run doubles to key the comeback. 
Purtell belted a two-run homer in the eighth to lift the Rams to the win. 
Purtell and Beeler each had three hits to lead Shepherd.  
Bella Culp went 5-for-6 for the Huskies. 
Senior pitcher Katie Laing (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) (2.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 K, 0 BB) (9-7) gained the win for the Rams. Faith Persing (1.1 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 1 K, 0 BB) (0-1) took the loss. 
The Huskies took a 2-0 lead in the third in the nightcap behind a solo homer by Sage Weidlich and an RBI-double by Alex Iseminger. 
Weidlich added a two-run double in the fourth to give the Huskies a 4-0 advantage. 
Purtell belted a two-run blast in the seventh for the Rams. 
Weidlich went 3-for-4 for the Huskies. 
Callie Sowers (7.0 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 7 K, 1 BB) (11-12) gained the win. Laing (3.1 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, 3 K, 2 BB) (9-8) took the loss for the Rams. 
The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they host Kutztown for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
