SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Jamie Carvin scored on a pass from Emily Fenwick with 2:18 left in regulation to lift Shippensburg (2-13, 1-9 PSAC East) to a 9-8 win over Shepherd University (5-10, 1-9 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at Shippensburg on Tuesday.
Freshman attacker Holly Poe (Sykesville, Md./Century) scored a game-high four goals to lead the Rams.
Sophomore midfielder Katie Paredes (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) added two goals and two assists, while junior attacker Shanna Dextradeur (Middletown, Md./Middletown) tallied a goal and an assist. Junior midfielder Kaiya Edwards (Brogue, Pa./Red Lion) netted a goal, while junior midfielder Paige Stoner (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) and freshman attacker Rebekah Forney (Walkersville, Md./Mount De Sales) each contributed an assist.
Sarah Vosburg had three goals and an assist for Shippensburg. Hannah Seifried added a goal and three assists.
The game was tied at 3-3 at halftime.
Senior goalkeeper Hailey Bennett (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) recorded nine saves for the Rams. Kayla Vosburg posted 11 saves for the Raiders.
Shippensburg had a 31-25 advantage in shots, while Shepherd had a 19-18 edge in shots on goal. Shepherd was 15-of-18 in clears and Shippensburg was 16-of-19. The Raiders had a 22-15 advantage in ground balls, while Shepherd had a 12-10 edge in draw controls.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to West Chester for a 1 p.m. contest.
