Shepherd Women’s Lacrosse Falls at #1 West Chester

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Hannah Stanislawczyk had five goals and an assist to lead top-ranked West Chester (15-0, 10-0 PSAC East) to a 19-5 win over Shepherd University (5-11, 1-10 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at West Chester on Saturday. 

Freshman attacker Holly Poe (Sykesville, Md./Century) scored a pair of goals to lead the Rams. 

Junior midfielder Paige Stoner (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) added a goal and two assists, while sophomore midfielder Katie Paredes (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) and  junior midfielder Kaiya Edwards (Brogue, Pa./Red Lion) each netted a goal. 

Keri Barnett added three goals and an assist while Lindsay Monigle had a goal and seven assists for the Golden Rams. 

West Chester had a 9-4 lead at halftime. 

Senior goalkeeper Hailey Bennett (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) recorded a season-high 17 saves for the Rams. Jessica Gorr (4), Peyton Hagy (1), and Ellie Hughes (0) combined for five saves for the Golden Rams. 

West Chester had a 44-13 advantage in shots with a 36-10 edge in shots on goal. Shepherd was 10-of-18 in clears and West Chester was 11-of-12. The Golden Rams had a 25-14 advantage in ground balls and an 18-8 edge in draw controls. 

The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Millersville for a 4 p.m. contest.
