WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Shepherd University (1-3-0, 0-1-0 PSAC East) dropped a 2-1 decision to West Chester (4-0-1, 1-0-0 PSAC East) in PSAC East men's soccer action at West Chester on Wednesday.
West Chester took a 1-0 lead when Andrew Markopoulos scored on a pass from Josh Daniels at the 15:47 mark.
The Golden Rams took a 2-0 lead into the break as Phil Odu-Inyang scored on a feed from Jack Dieffenderfer at the 16:39 mark.
The Rams got an unassisted goal by junior forward/midfielder Mac Long (Boonsboro, Md./Boonsboro/Hagerstown Community College) at the 80:45 mark to complete the scoring.
Sophomore goalkeeper Carter Cave (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown) posted three saves for the Rams. Daniel Good recorded three saves for the Golden Rams.
Shepherd had a 16-9 edge in shots with West Chester holding a 5-4 edge in shots on goal. West Chester had a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host 24th-ranked East Stroudsburg for a 1 p.m. match.
