SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (1-4-0, 0-2-0 PSAC East) dropped a 4-2 decision to 24th-ranked East Stroudsburg (4-0-1, 1-0-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East men's soccer action at Shepherd on Saturday.
The Warriors took a 2-0 lead into the break behind first-half goals from Nathan Bradway and Zach McKinney.
Shepherd opened the second half scoring when junior forward Andrew West (Annandale, Va./Carlisle {Pa.}) scored on a pass from freshman midfielder Josue Guzman (Hyattsville, Md./Northwestern) at the 47:34 mark.
The Warriors got a goal from Bradley Turocy at the 54:45 mark to up their lead to 3-1 at the mark.
Ethan Flickinger scored on a pass from Ignasi Cucurella at the 64:17 mark to extend the lead.
Shepherd added another tally when sophomore midfielder Justin Langon (Upper Marlboro, Md./Bishop McNamara) scored an unassisted goal at the 66:31 mark.
Sophomore goalkeeper Carter Cave (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown) posted five saves for the Rams. Brayden Evans recorded a pair of saves for the Warriors.
East Stroudsburg had a 13-8 edge in shots with a 9-4 edge in shots on goal. Corner kicks were even at three apiece.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Bloomsburg at 1 p.m.
