INDIANA, Pa. – Shepherd University (4-8) split a pair of matches at the 2023 Crimson Hawk Classic Presented by the Hilton Garden Inn in volleyball action on Saturday. The Rams posted a 3-0 (25-13, 25-11, 25-15) win over Davis & Elkins (0-10) in an early match and dropped a 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-23) decision to Frostburg State (7-5) in a later match. 

Freshman outside hitter Amya Davis (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) had 10 kills and junior middle blocker Joi Fairweather (Tamarac, Fla./Calvary Christian Academy) added eight against Davis & Elkins. 

Sophomore setter Macy Buso (Parker, Colo./Chaparral) had match highs of 19 assists and five aces, while redshirt-junior libero Claire Ellis (Louisa, Va./Saint Catherine's School) recorded a match-high 17 digs. 

Clara Caralt had 15 digs and an ace to pace the Senators.  

Freshman outside hitter Jordan Pryor (Middletown, Md./Middletown) and Davis each recorded nine kills against the Bobcats. Fairweather added eight. 

Buso had 24 assists, while Ellis had a match-high 13 digs. 

Beverly Braun had 18 kills, while Hayley Delor had 34 assists and 11 digs to lead Frostburg State. 

The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Fairmont State for a 6 p.m. match.
