Shepherd Women's Soccer Downs Shippensburg

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. –  Sophomore forward Lydia Gable (Felton, Pa./Kennard Dale) scored a pair of goals to lead Shepherd University (3-1-2, 1-1-2 PSAC East) to a 3-1 win over Shippensburg (1-5-0, 1-3-0 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Shepherd on Wednesday. 

Gable opened the scoring on a pass from graduate student forward/midfielder Sara Hohn (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson) at the 11:00 mark. 

Gable later scored on an assist from sophomore midfielder Adrianna Morales (Holmdel, N.J./Holmdel) at the 24:44 mark. 

Sophomore midfielder Josie Beezel (Woodsboro, Md./Linganore) scored an unassisted goal at the 30:21 mark to give the Rams a 3-0 lead at the break 

Abbi Czarnecki scored an unassisted goal at the 57:01 mark for the Raiders. 

Junior goalkeeper Alayna Burgamy (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson/Pitt-Johnstown) recorded one save for the Rams. Morgan Molyneaux had 13 saves for the Raiders 

Shepherd had a 24-3 edge in shots and a 16-2 advantage in shots on goal. Corner kicks were even at four each. 

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Kutztown for a noon contest.
