SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (5-9, 0-1 PSAC East) fell to Shippensburg (9-5, 1-0 PSAC East) in PSAC East volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Friday night. The Raiders posted a 25-23, 25-18, 25-21 win.
Freshman outside hitter Amya Davis (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) had a team-high 11 kills to pace the Rams. Freshman outside hitter Jordan Pryor (Middletown, Md./Middletown) added six.
Senior setter Victoria Nicholes (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) had 26 assists, while senior libero Claire Ellis (Louisa, Va./Saint Catherine's School) recorded a team-high 11 digs.
Gracen Nutt had 12 kills and Emily Gardner added 10 to lead Shippensburg. Gardner added 12 digs. Kearstin Davis had 33 assists and seven digs.
The Rams return to action on Friday when they host Bloomsburg for a 7 p.m. match.
