SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shepherd University (2-5-1, 1-3-1 PSAC East) scored a pair of second-half goals to rally past Shippensburg (3-3-1, 1-3-0 PSAC East) for a 2-1 victory in PSAC East men's soccer action at Shippensburg on Wednesday evening.
Shippensburg took a 1 -0 lead into the break as Luke Kramer scored an unassisted goal at the 43:52 mark.
Shepherd opened the second half scoring when graduate student midfielder Ryan Fisher (Hurricane, W.Va./Hurricane/Marshall) scored on a pass from senior forward Owen Wood (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport) at the 49:28 mark to tie the game.
The Rams scored the game-winner when freshman midfielder Josue Guzman (Hyattsville, Md./Northwestern) nailed a left-footed goal on a pass from junior forward/midfielder Mac Long (Boonsboro, Md./Boonsboro/Hagerstown Community College) at the 72:06 mark.
Senior goalkeeper Christian Blazes (Hagerstown, Md./Heritage Academy) recorded two saves for the Rams. Cody Willoughby posted four saves for the Raiders.
Shepherd had a 13-11 advantage in shots with a 5-3 edge in shots on goal. The Raiders had a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 4 when they host Slippery Rock at 1 p.m.
