WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Emily McAteer scored a game-high 24 points to lead West Chester (9-5, 4-4 PSAC) to an 82-27 win over Shepherd University (3-10, 1-7 PSAC) in PSAC women's basketball action at West Chester on Monday night
Graduate student forward Cara Minor (Hundred, W.Va./North Marion) led the Rams with six points, a game-high 10 rebounds, and four steals. Her 10 rebounds were a career-high effort, while her four steals tied a career high.
Deaira Hairston (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) added five points, while freshman forward Carmaya Bowman (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) and freshman forward Katie Christ (Sterling, Va./Dominion) each tossed in four.
Anna McTamney had 14 points, six rebounds, and five steals for the Golden Rams. Leah Johnson added 11 points, seven rebounds, and six assists
West Chester had a 43-6 advantage at halftime.
Shepherd shot 23.1 percent (12-52) from the floor with a 9.5 percent (2-21) performance from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit 100 percent (1-1) of their free throws.
West Chester shot 45.7 percent (32-70) from the floor with a 32.1 percent (9-28) effort from three-point range. The Golden Rams shot 81.8 percent (9-11) from the foul line.
West Chester had a 53-26 advantage in rebounding. The Rams forced 17 turnovers and committed 27.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Mansfield for a 1 p.m. game.
