MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Matt Dade scored a game-high 20 points to lead Millersville (12-3, 7-2 PSAC) to a 69-44 win over Shepherd (6-9, 3-7 PSAC) in PSAC men's basketball action at Millersville on Wednesday night.
Senior guard Daniel McClain-Corley (Clinton, Md./Massanutten Military Academy) led the Rams with 12 points. McClain-Corley connected on 5-of-12 field goals with a 1-of-2 effort from beyond the arc. He was 1-of-2 from the foul line.
Junior forward Carson Poffenberger (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown), freshman guard Michael Cooper (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge), and freshman guard Marcus Banks (Clinton, Md./Riverdale Baptist) each added seven points. Senior guard Phillip Jordan (Rockville, Md./St. Albans) had five points, five assists, and tied a career-high effort with nine rebounds.
Day Waters and Drew Stover each added 16 points for the Marauders. Stover also tied Jordan with a game-high nine rebounds.
Millersville had a 34-28 lead at halftime with Dade leading the Marauders with 11 first-half points.
Millersville began the second half on an 11-0 run to open up a 17-point advantage to take control of the game.
Shepherd connected on 34 percent (18-53) of its field goals with a 23.8 percent (5-21) performance from three-point range. The Rams drained 50 percent (3-6) of their free throws.
Millersville shot 47.3 percent (26-55) from the floor with a 50 percent (9-18) effort from beyond the arc. The Marauders hit 61.5 percent (8-13) from the foul line.
Millersville had a 34-32 edge on the boards. The Rams forced nine turnovers and committed 15.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Lock Haven for a 3 p.m. game.
