Lock Haven Holds Off Shepherd Women

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Jenadia Jordan scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Lock Haven (15-1, 10-0 PSAC) to a 58-54 win over Shepherd University (3-13, 1-10 PSAC) in PSAC women's basketball action at Lock Haven on Saturday afternoon. 

Freshman guard Kara Wehner (Staten Island, NY/Xaverian) led the Rams with 13 points.  She connected on 6-of-10 field goals with a 1-of-2 effort from the foul line. 

Graduate student forward Cara Minor (Hundred, W.Va./North Marion) added 12 points. Junior guard/forward Sydney Bolles (Elkview, W.Va./Charleston Catholic) had nine points, five boards, and a pair of steals. 

Alana Robinson added 12 points and seven rebounds for the Bald Eagles. Jackie Fetsko had nine points and six boards. 

Lock Haven had a 33-23 lead at halftime. 

Trailing by as many as eight points in the fourth quarter, Shepherd rallied late to cut the lead to two points at 56-54 after Wehner hit 1-of-2 free throws with nine seconds remaining. Robinson hit a pair of free throws with six seconds left to seal the win for Lock Haven. 

Shepherd shot 38.9 percent (21-54) from the floor with a 15.4 percent (2-13) performance from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit 76.9 percent (10-13) of their free throws. 

Lock Haven shot 31.3 percent (21-67) from the floor with a 20 percent (2-10) effort from three-point range. The Bald Eagles shot 63.6 percent (14-22) from the foul line. 

Lock Haven had a 55-28 rebounding edge. The Rams forced 16 turnovers and committed 12. 

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Bloomsburg for a 1 p.m. contest.
