INDIANA, Pa. – Bryce Radford scored a game-high 28 points to lead Indiana (Pa.) (8-2, 5-1 PSAC) to a 78-48 win over Shepherd (5-6, 2-4 PSAC) in PSAC men's basketball action at IUP on Wednesday night.
Junior forward Carson Poffenberger (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown) led the Rams with 19 points. He connected on 5-of-9 shots with a 4-of-8 performance from three-point range. He was 5-of-5 from the foul line.
Freshman guard Marcus Banks (Clinton, Md./Riverdale Baptist) added 11 points, while senior guard Daniel McClain-Corley (Clinton, Md./Massanutten Military Academy) tossed in eight. Junior guard Jarod Robinson (Laurel, Md./Glenelg Country School) posted a team-high six rebounds.
Jaylen Stewart added 25 points for the Crimson Hawks. Ethan Porterfield contributed 17 points and 10 rebounds.
IUP had a 34 -18 lead at the break.
The Crimson Hawks used a 20-4 run in the second half to pull away for the win.
Shepherd connected on 34 percent (18-53) of its field goals with a 29.1 percent (7-24) performance from three-point range. The Rams drained 100 percent (5-5) of their free throws.
IUP shot 57.8 percent (26-45) from the floor with a 59.3 percent (16-27) effort from beyond the arc. The Crimson Hawks hit 71.4 percent (10-14) from the foul line.
The Crimson Hawks had a 32-23 edge on the boards. The Rams forced 13 turnovers and committed 13.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host East Stroudsburg for a 3 p.m. contest.
