INDIANA, Pa. – Rahmana Henderson and Nyshae' Weaver each scored 15 points to lead Indiana (Pa.) (8-2, 5-1 PSAC) to an 80-52 win over Shepherd University (3-8, 1-5 PSAC) in PSAC women's basketball action at IUP on Wednesday.
Freshman guard Kara Wehner (Staten Island, NY/Xaverian) led the Rams with a game-high 16 points. She connected on 8-of-12 field goals.
Graduate student forward Cara Minor (Hundred, W.Va./North Marion) added 14 points fueled by a 4-of-7 effort from three-point range. Minor tied freshman forward Carmaya Bowman (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) with a team-high six rebounds. Bowman also tied junior guard Jordan Carr (Charles Town, W.Va./Jefferson) with a team-high three assists.
Janeira Scott added 14 points and Teirra Preston tossed in 10 for the Crimson Hawks.
IUP had a 45-29 advantage at halftime.
Shepherd shot 36.5 percent (19-52) from the floor with a 26.7 percent (4-15) performance from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit 83.3 percent (10-12) of their free throws.
Indiana (Pa.) shot 44.4 percent (32-72) from the floor with a 33.3 percent (4-12) effort from three-point range. The Crimson Hawks shot 60 percent (12-20) from the foul line.
IUP had a 47-29 edge in rebounding. The Rams forced 13 turnovers and committed 24.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host East Stroudsburg for a 1 p.m. contest.
