MANSFIELD, Pa. – Sixteeenth-ranked Shepherd University (10-1-4, 10-1-2 PSAC East) recorded a 3-0 win over Mansfield (0-13-3, 0-13-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Mansfield on Wednesday.
Shepherd took a 1-0 lead when junior forward
Lydia Gable (Felton, Pa./Kennard Dale) scored off a pass from sophomore midfielder
Annabelle Wunderlich (Red Lion, Pa./Dallastown Area) at the 54:38 mark.
The Rams took a 2-0 advantage minutes later when sophomore midfielder
Reagan Ackermann (Myersville, Md./Middletown/UNC Wilmington) scored on an assist from junior midfielder
Josie Beezel (Woodsboro, Md./Linganore).
Beezel closed out the scoring on a pass from Ackermann at the 62:17 mark.
Shepherd had an 18-8 edge in shots and an 11-2 advantage in shots on goal. The Rams had a 5-2 edge in corner kicks.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Hannah Wilt (Saint Leonard, Md./Calvert) recorded two saves to record her seventh shutout of the year for the Rams. Alyssa Shuman had eight saves for the Mountaineers.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Lock Haven at 2:30 p.m. for Alumni Weekend.
