SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Victoria Pungello scored on an assist from Carley Slavin at the 55:02 mark to lift West Chester (6-3-0, 5-3-0 PSAC East) to a 1-0 win over #17 Shepherd University (6-1-3, 6-1-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Shepherd on Wednesday. Shepherd's unbeaten streak ends at 13 games dating back to 2023.
 
West Chester had an 11-9 edge in shots with a 6-4 advantage in shots on goal. The Golden Rams had a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
 
Sophomore goalkeeper Hannah Wilt (Saint Leonard, Md./Calvert) recorded five saves for the Rams. Grace Keen had four saves for the Golden Rams.
 
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Bloomsburg at noon.
