ETTRICK, Va. – Jared White scored 15 points to lead six players in double figures as Virginia State (1-1) recorded a 93-50 win over Shepherd (1-1) in second day men's basketball action of the Conference Challenge at Virginia State on Saturday.

Cole Paar (Mount Airy, Md./Glenelg Country School/Towson) led the Rams with 10 points.

Michael Cooper (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge) and freshman guard
Elwyne Wordlaw (Frederick, Md./Frederick) each added eight points.

Marcus Banks (Clinton, Md./Riverdale Baptist) added six points, a team-high six rebounds, and a team-high five assists.
Dajour Rucker, Jacob Cooper, and Tim Uzochuwku each added 11 points for Virginia State. Jaeden Jefferson and Daryl Mackey Jr. each tossed in 10 points.
Shepherd connected on 28.0 percent (14-50) of its field goals with a 13.0 percent (3-23) performance from three-point range. The Rams drained 54.3 percent (19-35) of their free throws.
Virginia State shot 56.5 percent (24-53) from the floor with a 52.0 percent (13-25) effort from beyond the arc. The Trojans hit 76.9 percent (10-13) from the foul line.
Virginia State had a 40-24 edge on the boards. The Rams forced 14 turnovers and committed 13.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Frostburg State for a 7 p.m. game.
