SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Sophomore guard
Marcus Banks (Clinton, Md./Riverdale Baptist) and graduate student forward
Chase Paar (Mount Airy, Md./Glenelg Country School/Towson) each scored a game-high 15 points to lead Shepherd University (6-3, 4-0 PSAC) to a 71-57 win over Clarion (7-3, 2-2 PSAC) in PSAC men's basketball action at the Butcher Center on Saturday.
Paar and Banks each added a team-high four assists, while Banks recorded a game-high four steals. Paar grabbed five boards and Banks hauled down a game-high nine rebounds.

Brody Davis (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown) added 12 points and freshman forward
Favor Okigweh (Edgewood, Md./Parkville/The Winchedon School) contributed 10 points and four rebounds. Senior guard

Justice Easter had 13 points to lead Clarion. Cam Kearney added and Trey Nelson each had 10 points.
Shepherd had a 27-25 advantage at the break.
Shepherd connected on 40.3 percent (25-62) of its field goals with a 20.7 percent (6-29) performance from three-point range. The Rams drained 83.3 percent (15-18) of their free throws.
Clarion shot 43.1 percent (22-51) from the floor with a 34.8 percent (8-23) effort from beyond the arc. The Golden Eagles hit 55.6 percent (5-9) from the foul line.
Shepherd had a 38-33 advantage in rebounds. The Rams forced 15 turnovers and committed eight.
The Rams return to action on Dec. 13 when they travel to Virginia Union for a 7:30 p.m. game.
