#19 Lock Haven Uses Strong Finish to Down Shepherd Women

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Jenadia Jordan scored 11 of her game-high 20 points in the second half to lead #19 Lock Haven (22-2, 17-1 PSAC) to a 69-52 win over Shepherd University (6-18, 4-15 PSAC) in PSAC women's basketball action at the Butcher Center on Saturday. Lock Haven outscored Shepherd, 26-13, in the fourth quarter to pull away for the win.

Junior guard/forward Sydney Bolles (Elkview, W.Va./Charleston Catholic) led the Rams with 19 points and six boards. She hit on 6-of-8 shots with a 1-of-2 effort from three-point range. She was 6-for-8 from the charity stripe.

Sophomore guard Peyton Grant (Plymouth, Maine/Dexter Regional) added 12 points and a career-high seven rebounds. Freshman forward Katie Christ (Sterling, Va./Dominion) had a career-high five points, while freshman forward Carmaya Bowman (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) added seven points and five boards.

Alana Robinson added 16 points and seven rebounds for the Bald Eagles. Rhlyn Rouse had 11 points and nine boards.

The game was tied at 27-all at halftime.

The Rams trailed Lock Haven by just five points after Christ hit 1-of-2 free throws at 51-46 with 5:15 left in regulation. They would get no closer.

Shepherd shot 38 percent (19-50) from the floor with a 26.3 percent (5-19) performance from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit 60 percent (9-15) of their free throws.

Lock Haven shot 33.3 percent (16-48) from the floor with a 50 percent (5-10) effort from three-point range. The Bald Eagles shot 76.2 percent (32-42) from the foul line.

Lock Haven had a 40-34 edge on the boards. The Rams forced 15 turnovers and committed 24.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Bloomsburg for a 1 p.m. contest.
