SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Treasure George scored a game-high 35 points to lead Shippensburg (6-22, 5-17 PSAC) to a 93-51 win over Shepherd University (6-20, 4-17 PSAC) in PSAC women's basketball action at Shippensburg on Wednesday.
Graduate student forward Cara Minor (Hundred, W.Va./North Marion) led the Rams with 12 points and six rebounds. She hit 4-of-10 field goals with a 1-of-5 effort from three-point range. She was 3-for-4 from the charity stripe.
Freshman guard Kara Wehner (Staten Island, NY/Xaverian) added nine points, while junior guard/forward Sydney Bolles (Elkview, W.Va./Charleston Catholic) and junior guard Jordan Carr (Charles Town, W.Va./Jefferson) each tossed in eight. Freshman forward Carmaya Bowman (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
Alexis Buie added 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Raiders. Former Ram Madi White had eight points and 10 boards.
Shippensburg had a 33-26 lead at halftime.
Shepherd shot 30.5 percent (18-59) from the floor with a 21.7 percent (5-23) performance from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit 62.5 percent (10-16) of their free throws.
Shippensburg shot 49.3 percent (37-75) from the floor with a 33.3 percent (5-15) effort from three-point range. The Raiders shot 58.3 percent (14-24) from the foul line.
Shippensburg had a 52-34 advantage on the boards. The Rams forced 10 turnovers and committed 22.
The Rams return to the Butcher Center on Saturday for Senior Day when they host Kutztown. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m.
