EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Lakeem McAliley scored a game-high 20 points to lead #15/5 East Stroudsburg (19-2, 13-2 PSAC) to a 73-59 win over Shepherd (9-11, 5-8 PSAC) in PSAC men's basketball action at East Stroudsburg on Saturday.
Junior guard
Jarod Robinson (Laurel, Md./Glenelg Country School) led the Rams with career-high efforts of 17 points and 13 rebounds. He hit 6-of-12 field goals with a 2-of-6 performance from three-point range. He was 3-of-5 from the line.
Freshman guard
Marcus Banks (Clinton, Md./Riverdale Baptist) added 16 points and eight boards, while junior forward
Carson Poffenberger (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown) scored 13 points.
Nasir Griffin had 13 points and eight rebounds for the Warriors. Jaelen McGlone added 11 points, six boards, and five assists.
East Stroudsburg had a 41-32 lead at the half.
Shepherd connected on 39.7 percent (23-58) of its field goals with a 26.1 percent (6-23) performance from three-point range. The Rams drained 50 percent (7-14) of their free throws.
East Stroudsburg shot 42.9 percent (27-63) from the floor with a 28.6 percent (8-28) effort from beyond the arc. The Warriors hit 64.7 percent (11-17) from the foul line.
Rebounds were even at 39-all. The Rams forced 11 turnovers and committed 14.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host West Chester at 7:30 p.m.
