SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Emily Mitarotonda scored nine goals and added two assists to lead #3/6 East Stroudsburg to an 18-10 win over Shepherd University (3-5, 1-3 PSAC East in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at Ram Stadium on Saturday.
Junior attacker Kelsey King (Fallston, Md./Concordia Prep), sophomore attacker Holly Poe (Sykesville, Md./Century), and freshman midfielder Aubrey Harrison (Fairmont, W.Va./Fairmont Senior) each scored a pair of goals. Harrison also had an assist.
Senior attacker Shanna Dextradeur (Middletown, Md./Middletown) and senior midfielder Paige Stoner (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) each added a goal and an assist. Stoner added a match-high six ground balls and three draw controls. Senior attacker Sam Lassahn (Baltimore, Md./Concordia Prep) and junior midfielder Katie Paredes (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) each scored a goal.                              
Hannah Scheimer added three goals for the Warriors.          
The game was tied at 6-6 at halftime.
Sophomore goalkeeper Destiny Rockwell (Glengary, W.Va./Musselman) tied a career-high effort with 11 saves for the Rams. Abby Simonetti (30:00, 6 GA, 6 saves) and Bella Gismondi (30:00, 4 GA, 4 saves) posted 10 saves for the Warriors.
East Stroudsburg had a 33-29 advantage in shots with a 29-20 edge in shots on goal. Shepherd was 14-of-18 in clears, while East Stroudsburg was 15-of-19. East Stroudsburg had a 22-20 edge in ground balls. Shepherd forced 23 turnovers and committed 22. The Warriors held a 22-10 advantage in draw controls.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Millersville for a 3 p.m. contest at Ram Stadium.
