LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Freshman pitcher Madelayne Ruffner (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) of the Shepherd University softball team has been named PSAC East Pitcher of the Week as announced by the league office today.

Ruffner scattered seven hits in a 4-1 win over IUP last Sunday, fanning 14 and walking only one in a complete-game victory. She then earned the save in the first game against Slippery Rock on Monday, pitching two scoreless innings and striking out four. Ruffner appeared in relief in game two and went 6.2 innings, striking out 10 and allowing just one hit, one walk, and no earned runs to pick up her second win of the week.
