JACKSON SPRINGS, N.C. – The Shepherd University men's golf team shot a 608 to finish seventh in a 12-team field and three members of the Shepherd University women's golf team competed at the Laker Spring Shootout in Jackson Springs, N.C. Mount Olive took the men's title with a 575. Ben Read of Sand Hills fired a 139 to take medalist honors. SCAD Atlanta women fired a 615 to take the women's title. Holly Lau of SCAD Atlanta shot a 144 to take medalist honors.  
 
Sophomore Morgan Dehoff (Rohrersville, Md./Boonsboro) fired a 145 to tie for eighth place to lead the Rams. He was followed by sophomore Joey Leisinger (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown) (151, T-22), sophomore Nop Satjavitvisarn (Yannawa Bangkok, Thailand/International Community School) (156, 35th), graduate student Chris Neighbors  (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) (158, T-41) and sophomore Trey Rios (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) (158, T-41, 158).
 
Sophomore Sara Veara (Berkeley Springs, W.Va./Berkeley Springs) shot a 164 to finish in ninth place to lead the Rams. She was followed by senior Olivia Rosick (Purcellville, Va./Woodgrove) (192, 19th), and sophomore Ryley Bolyard (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville/Meredith College) (207, 25th).  
 
The Rams return to action on Monday, March 25 when they travel to the Vulcan Fire Classic.
