LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Freshman pitcher Madelayne Ruffner (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) of the Shepherd University softball team has been named PSAC East Co-Pitcher of the Week as announced by the league office. Ruffner, a three-time PSAC weekly honoree this season, shared the honors with Callie Sowers of Bloomsburg.

Ruffner posted a 2-0 mark on the week for the Rams. She fanned 22 batters and walked none. She scattered six hits over 11 innings and allowed only one unearned run. Against Kutztown, she went six innings and scattered three hits, striking out nine Golden Bears in the 9-1 win. Ruffner added 13 strikeouts and three more hits against Mansfield in an 8-0 victory.
