Shepherd Women’s Lacrosse Edged by Shippensburg

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Emily Fenwick scored an unassisted goal with 1:31 remaining in regulation to lift Shippensburg (4-11, 2-8 PSAC East) to an 11-10 win over Shepherd University (5-9, 3-7 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at Ram Stadium on Wednesday.
 
Senior attacker Sam Lassahn (Baltimore, Md./Concordia Prep) tallied three goals to lead the Rams. Junior midfielder Katie Paredes (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) added two goals and an assist, while junior attacker Kelsey King (Fallston, Md./Concordia Prep) netted a pair of goals.
 
Senior midfielder Paige Stoner (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright), sophomore attacker Holly Poe (Sykesville, Md./Century), and freshman midfielder Aubrey Harrison (Fairmont, W.Va./Fairmont Senior) each scored a goal. Sophomore attacker Rebekah Forney (Walkersville, Md./Mount De Sales) and freshman midfielder/defender Sierra Rose (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) each contributed an assist.
 
Sarah Vosburg had four goals and an assist to lead the Raiders. Grace DeMarzio added two goals and a game-high eight draw controls.
 
Shepherd had an 8-5 lead at halftime.
 
Shippensburg outscored Shepherd 6-2 in the second half and ended the game with three unanswered goals to rally for the win.
 
Sophomore goalkeeper Destiny Rockwell (Glengary, W.Va./Musselman) recorded 12 saves for the Rams. Kayla Vosburg recorded eight saves for the Raiders.
 
Shippensburg had a 36-28 advantage in shots with a 23-18 edge in shots on goal. Shepherd was 21-of-22 in clears, while Shippensburg was 19-of-22. Shippensburg had a 27-22 advantage in ground balls. Shepherd forced 21 turnovers and committed 12. The Raiders held an 18-7 advantage in draw controls.
 
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host West Chester at Ram Stadium. First draw is slated for 1 p.m..
