HAGERSTOWN, Md. – Shepherd University men's and women's golf teams competed in first round action at the Cardinal Classic at Black Rock Golf Course at Hagerstown on Saturday. The men are in first place and the Shepherd B team is in second in a fourteen-team field. The women are in third in a nine-team field.
Junior
Trey Rios (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) led the men as he shot four-under for day one. He was followed by junior
Morgan Dehoff (Rohrersville, Md./Boonsboro) (T-2nd, -3), freshman
Andrew Taylor (Summit Point, W.Va./Washington) (T-4th, -2), junior
Joey Leisinger (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown) (T-12th, +1), and sophomore
Jimmy Goldsborough (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) (T-18th, +2).
Pacing the Shepherd men's B team were freshmen
Killian Donnelly (Palmyra, Va./Palmyra) and Cambell Koegler (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Park) with a two-under par effort to tie for fourth place. They were followed by sophomore
Jimmy Goldsborough (Hagerstown, Md./ North Hagerstown), (T-22nd, +3), freshman Ben Heidrick (Rosedale, Md./Calvert Hall) and junior
Luke Davis (Clear Brook,/Va./James Wood)(both T-42nd, +6).
