Shepherd Women’s Basketball Downed by Lock Haven

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. –  Alana Robinson had a game-high  21 points to lead Lock Haven (10-5, 5-4 PSAC) to a 74-54 win over Shepherd (4-13, 1-10 PSAC) in PSAC women's basketball action at the Butcher Center on Wednesday.
 
Freshman forward Lamaria Estridge (Walkersville, Md./St. Andrew's Episcopal) scored a career-high 18 points to lead the Rams. She connected on 8-of-12 field goals with a 2-of-4 effort from the foul line. She added a team-high six rebounds.
 
Sophomore forward Carmaya Bowman (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) contributed nine points and three rebounds. Sophomore guard Kara Wehner (Staten Island/N.Y/ Xaverian) added eight points, three assists, and two boards, while junior Annie Hunt (Ravenswood/W.Va./Wheeling) contributed eight points.
 
Kiera Baughman had 19 points, three steals, and three assists for the Bald Eagles. Madeline Evans added a game-high eight rebounds. 
 
Shepherd rallied from a 21-13 first-quarter deficit to take a 30-28 lead into the break.
 
The game was tied at 45-all after three quarters before the Bald Eagles outscored the Rams 29-to-9 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the win.
 
Shepherd had a 39.6 percent (21-53) field goal percentage with a 33.3 percent effort (5-15) effort from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit 70 percent (7-10)) from the foul line.
 
Lock Haven connected on 44.7 percent (21-47) of its field goals with 42.9 percent effort (3-7) from three-point range. The Bald Eagles hit 90.6 percent (29-32) of their free throws.
 
The Bald Eagles had a 37-23 rebounding advantage. Shepherd forced 12 turnovers and committed 19.
 
The Rams return to action next Wednesday when they travel to Bloomsburg for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
