EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Lakeem McAliley scored a game-high 24 points to lead East Stroudsburg (10-3, 4-2 PSAC) to an 85-75 win over Shepherd University (8-6, 4-3 PSAC) in PSAC men's basketball action at East Stroudsburg on Monday night.
Freshman guard 
Elwyne Wordlaw (Frederick, Md./Frederick) led the Rams with a career-high 18 points. He connected on 6-o-f-10 field goals with a 4-of-6 effort from beyond the arc. He was 2-for-2 from the foul line. Wordlaw added four assists.
Sophomore forward 
Cole Paar (Mount Airy, Md./Glenelg Country School/Towson) added 13 points, while sophomore guard 
Marcus Banks (Clinton, Md./Riverdale Baptist) had 12 points and five assists. Graduate student forward 
Chase Paar (Mount Airy, Md./Glenelg Country School/Towson) had 11 points and seven rebounds and sophomore guard 
Michael Cooper (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge) was also in double figures with 11 points.
Shemar Wilbanks-Acqui added 12 points for the Warriors. Cam Young, Evan Morton, and Jalen Pichardo each tossed in 10 points.
 
Shepherd had a 36-33 lead at the break.
 
East Stroudsburg opened the second half on a 6-2 run to take the lead at 39-38 after a three-pointer by Morton with 18:26 left. The Warriors held the lead for the remainder of the game.
Shepherd connected on 47.8 percent (22-46) of its field goals with a 44 percent (11-25) performance from three-point range. The Rams drained 80 percent (20-25) of their free throws.
East Stroudsburg shot 43.1 percent (28-65) from the floor with a  34.5 percent (10-29) effort from beyond the arc. The Warriors hit 70.4 percent (19-27) from the foul line.
Shepherd had a 39-33 edge in rebounds. The Rams forced seven turnovers and committed 19.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Mansfield for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
