ERIE, Pa. -- Shepherd University (9-1-6) recorded a 2-0 win over ninth-ranked Gannon (15-2-2) in PSAC Women's Soccer Tournament quarterfinal action at Gannon on Tuesday night.
Shepherd took a 1-0 lead when junior midfielder
Reagan Ackermann (Myersville, Md./Middletown/UNC Wilmington) scored on a feed from senior defender
Adrianna Morales (Holmdel, N.J./Holmdel) at the 39:43 mark.
The Rams added an insurance goal on an unassisted tally from senior midfielder
Josie Beezel (Woodsboro, Md./Linganore) at the 86:18 mark.
Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper
Hannah Wilt (Saint Leonard, Md./Calvert) recorded six saves for the Rams. She recorded her sixth shutout of the season. Morgan Sinan did not register a save for the Golden Knights.
Gannon had a 16-3 advantage in shots with a 7-2 edge in shots on goal. The Golden Knights had a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Rams advance to the tournament semifinals on Friday when they travel to West Chester for a 1 p.m. contest.
