Shepherd Women’s Soccer Tops #15 West Chester in PSAC Semifinals

WEST CHESTER, Pa. -- Shepherd University (10-1-6) handed #15 West Chester (13-2-4) a 3-0 setback in PSAC Women's Soccer Tournament semifinal action at West Chester on Friday afternoon.

Senior midfielder Josie Beezel (Woodsboro, Md./Linganore) scored on a pass from junior midfielder Reagan Ackermann (Myersville, Md./Middletown/UNC Wilmington) at the 50:33 mark to give Shepherd a 1-0 lead.

Shepherd took a 2-0 advantage when sophomore midfielder Anaya Lozano (Chesapeake, Va./Atlantic Shores Christian School) scored on an assist from Ackermann at the 78:31 mark.

Sophomore midfielder Olivia Gardner (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) found the back of the net on a pass from senior defender Adrianna Morales (Holmdel, N.J./Holmdel) at the 88:09 mark to cap the scoring.

Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Hannah Wilt (Saint Leonard, Md./Calvert) recorded 10 saves for the Rams to post her seventh shutout of the season. Grace Keen registered one save for the Golden Rams.

West Chester had a 19-6 advantage in shots with a 10-4 edge in shots on goal. The Rams had a 5-4  advantage in corner kicks.

The Rams advance to the tournament finals on Sunday when they face Kutztown, a 1-0 winner over Millersville in the earlier semifinal game, in a 1 p.m. contest at West Chester.

Notes: Wilt tied her season-high effort of 10 saves in a 1-1 tie against West Chester on Oct. 4 … The Rams improve to 4-0-2 against ranked opponents this season … Shepherd's 10 wins this season give them double-digit victories for the third time in program history (11 in 2005, 18 in 2024).
