KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Shepherd University (19-8, 8-5 PSAC East) fell to Kutztown (14-13, 6-7 PSAC East) in five sets in PSAC East volleyball action at Kutztown on Friday evening. The Rams suffered a 25-19, 16-25, 25-11, 24-26, 13-15 setback.
Freshman outside hitter Ada McCoy (Bunker Hill, W.Va./Musselman) and junior outside hitter Amya Davis (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) led the Rams with 17 kills each. Junior middle hitter Rylee Lenz (Earleville, Md./Bohemia Manor) added 13 kills and three blocks, while junior middle hitter/right side Sophia Ryan (Monroe, N.Y./Monroe Woodbury) posted nine kills and a match-high six blocks.
Senior setter Macy Buso (Parker, Colo./Chaparral) recorded 41 assists and 18 digs. Sophomore libero Kiela Sanger (Sunnyvale, Texas/Sunnyvale) had a match-high 32 digs.
Paige Skinner recorded a match-high 21 kills for Kutztown. Emma Baldridge had a match-high 53 assists, five aces, and 14 digs.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to East Stroudsburg for a 2 p.m. contest.
