LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Ten members of the Shepherd University football team have been named to the 2025 PSAC Football Eastern Division All-Conference Team as announced by the league office on Wednesday. Redshirt junior running back
Jordan Barnett (Fredericksburg, Va./Colonial Forge/FUMA/Southern Utah), redshirt senior offensive lineman
Brandon Carr (Reisterstown, Md./Franklin), redshirt senior offensive lineman
Ty Lucas (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg), junior offensive lineman
Josh Crummitt (Ijamsville, Md./Oakdale), junior wide receiver
Kordell Batten (Waldorf, Md./St. Charles), graduate student return specialist/defensive back
Klayton Batten (Waldorf, Md./St. Charles), senior defensive lineman
Nathan Muhle (Harpers Ferry, W.Va./Jefferson), and junior punter
Daishaun Alexander (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Salem/Saint Vincent) were first team honorees. Graduate student defensive lineman
Jack Baxter (Sykesville, Md./Marriotts Ridge) and Junior defensive back
Makai Young (White Plains, Md./North Point) were second team selections.
Barnett appeared and started in all 11 games. He had 172 carries for 1,209 yards and 17 touchdowns. He ranked first in the conference in scoring (102 points), rushing yards, total touchdowns (17), and rushing touchdowns (17). He also added 11 receptions for 68 yards. He rushed for 100 yards or more in six games, including a career-high 212-yards effort against Clarion.
Carr, Crummit, and Lucas appeared and started in all 11 games. They anchored an offensive line that paved the way for Barnett's success. They also helped Shepherd average 168.73 rushing yards and 30.5 points per game.
Kordell Batten appeared in 11 games with four starts. He led the Rams in receptions (59), receiving yards (665), and was second in touchdown receptions with five. He had more than 100 receiving yards twice this season and hauled in a career-high 10 receptions against Lock Haven.
Klayton Batten appeared in 11 games with nine starts. Batten earned first team honors as a return specialist and a defensive back. He had 17 punt returns for an 11.35 average. He had a 74-yard punt return for a score against West Chester. Batten currently ranks 14th nationally in punt returns. He recorded 42 tackles (30 solos) with 1.5 tackles-for-loss (-5 yards). He added five interceptions for 99 yards, four pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. His 0.45 interceptions per game tie for the lead in the PSAC and rank him seventh nationally.
Muhle appeared and started in all 11 games. He led the team in tackles (58) and solo stops (40). He also topped the team with 12 tackles-for-loss (-46 yards) and five sacks (-33 yards). Muhle also added a pair of fumble recoveries, a forced fumble, a pass breakup, and a blocked kick.
Alexander appeared and started in all 11 games. He punted 44 times for a 44.57 average. He had 16 punts placed inside the 20-yard line and booted 13 punts of 50 yards or more. His 44.57 average led the PSAC and ranks him third nationally.
Baxter appeared in 11 games with seven starts. He recorded 30 tackles (18 solos) with four tackles-for-loss (-19 yards) and three sacks (-15 yards). He added two forced fumbles, a pass breakup, and a fumble recovery.
Young appeared in 11 games with 10 starts. He recorded 55 tackles (36 solos) with six tackles-for-loss (-12 yards). He added a pass breakup and a forced fumble. His 55 tackles and 36 solo stops were second on the team.
