Alexander, Batten Named to Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America Team

BROOKFIELD, Ill. – Graduate student defensive back Klayton Batten (Waldorf, Md./St. Charles) and junior punter Daishaun Alexander (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Salem/Saint Vincent) of the Shepherd University football team have been named to the 2025 Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America Team released today by the Don Hansen Football Committee.

Alexander, a second team choice, appeared and started in all 11 games for the Rams. He punted 44 times for a 44.57 average. He had 16 punts placed inside the 20-yard line and booted 13 punts of 50 yards or more. His 44.57 average led the PSAC and ranks him second nationally.

Batten, a second team choice, appeared in 11 games with nine starts. He recorded 42 tackles (30 solos) with 1.5 tackles-for-loss (-5 yards). He added five interceptions for 99 yards, four pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. His 0.45 interceptions per game tie for the lead in the PSAC and rank him eighth nationally. Batten also ranks seventh nationally in forced fumbles with a 0.36 per game average.
