SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Hope Garrity scored a team-high 22 points to lead Edinboro (6-6, 3-0) to an 86-63 win over Shepherd (2-6, 0-3) in PSAC women's basketball action at the Butcher Center on Saturday.
Sophomore forward Lamaria Estridge (Walkersville, Md./St. Andrew's Episcopal) led the Rams with a career-high 27 points. Estridge connected on 10-of-20 shots from the floor with a 3-of-5 effort from beyond the arc. She was 4-of-7 from the foul line. She added five rebounds and three steals.
Junior guard Kara Wehner (Staten Island, N.Y./Xaverian) added nine points, four rebounds, and four assists. Sophomore guard Trinity Turner (Germantown, Md/Clarksburg) contributed eight points and grabbed seven boards.
Rachael Manfredo added 17 points and nine rebounds for the Fighting Scots. Taylor Blunt tossed 11 points
Shepherd connected on 36.4 percent (24-66) of its field goals with a 20 percent effort (5-25) from three-point range. The Rams hit 52.6 percent (10-19) of their free throws.
Edinboro had a 62.5 percent (35-56) field goal percentage with a 47.6 percent (10-21) effort from beyond the arc for the game. The Fighting Scots hit 54.5 percent (6-11) from the foul line.
The Fighting Scots had a 36-32 advantage on the boards. Shepherd forced 21 turnovers and committed 16.
The Rams return to action on January 2 when they travel to Clarion for a 3 p.m. contest.
