SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Kate Ratliff scored a team-high 14 points and added nine rebounds to lead #6 Gannon (7-1) to a 68-51 win over Shepherd (2-4) in women's basketball action at the Butcher Center on Saturday.
Sophomore forward
Lamaria Estridge (Walkersville, Md./St. Andrew's Episcopal) led the Rams with a game-high 17 points. Estridge connected on 8-of-17 shots from the floor and was 1-of-2 from the foul line. She added six rebounds and four steals.
Junior guard
Kara Wehner (Staten Island, N.Y./Xaverian) tossed in 13 points. Sophomore guard
Trinity Turner (Germantown, Md./Clarksburg) contributed nine points and nine boards.
Shepherd had a 32.2 percent (19-59) field goal percentage with a 7.7 percent (1-13) effort from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit 70.6 percent (12-17) from the foul line.
Gannon connected on 40 percent (24-60) of its field goals with a 23.8 percent effort (5-21) from three-point range. Gannon hit 93.8 percent (15-16) of their free throws.
Gannon had a 51-28 advantage on the boards. Shepherd forced 21 turnovers and committed 14.
The Rams return to action on December 16 when they travel to Slippery Rock for a 3 p.m. contest.
