Lock Haven Edges Shepherd Men

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Lock Haven (13-11, 10-8 PSAC) held off Shepherd University (15-9, 11-6 PSAC) for a 67-62 win in PSAC men's basketball action at Lock Haven on Saturday.

Graduate student forward Chase Paar (Mount Airy, Md./Glenelg Country School/Towson) had game highs of 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Rams. Paar hit 7-of-9 shots from the floor with a 1-of-2 effort from three-point range. He was 6-of-7 from the foul line. Paar added three assists, two blocked shots, and a steal.

Sophomore guard Marcus Banks (Clinton, Md./Riverdale Baptist) had 11 points, four rebounds, and four assists, while freshman guard Brody Davis (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown) added nine points and six boards.

Eli Washington had 14 points to lead the Bald Eagles. LaQuan Byrd added 13 points, while Blake Deegan had 12.
 
Lock Haven had a 27-24 lead at halftime.
 
The game featured 12 lead changes and five ties.
 
Shepherd held a 58-54 lead after Paar hit 1-of-2 free throws with 3:12 left in the game. Lock Haven closed the game on a 13-4 run to get the win.

Shepherd connected on 36.7 percent (22-60) of its field goals with a 22.2 percent (8-27) performance from three-point range for the game. The Rams drained 63.2 percent (12-19) of their free throws.

Lock Haven shot 40.8 percent (20-49) from the floor with a 37.5 percent (6-16) effort from beyond the arc. The Bald Eagles hit 84 percent (21-25) from the foul line.
Shepherd had a 27-29 advantage in rebounding. The Rams forced 13 turnovers and committed 18.

The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Mansfield at 7:30 p.m.
