KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Naia Pulliam scored a game-high 17 points to lead Kutztown (18-10, 13-6 PSAC) to a 77-49 win over Shepherd (6-20, 2-17 PSAC) in PSAC women's basketball action at Kutztown on Saturday.
Sophomore guard
Kara Wehner (Staten Island, N.Y./Xaverian) and junior guard
Annie Hunt (Ravenswood, W.Va./Ravenswood/Wheeling) led the Rams with nine points each. Hunt added three boards. Wehner posted two boards and two assists. Wehner connected on 4-of-9 field goals with a 1-of-4 effort from behind the arc. Hunt connected on 3-of-16 field goals with a 3-of-9 effort from behind the arc.
Freshman forward
Makenna Painter Woodstock, Va./Central) contributed seven points and eight rebounds. Sophomore forward
Carmaya Bowman (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) had four points and grabbed a team-high nine boards.
Olivia Smelas had nine points, a game-high 14 rebounds, and seven assists for the Golden Bears. Kittie Randa added seven points and four rebounds.
Shepherd had a 26.9 percent (18-67) field goal percentage with a 29.2 percent (7-24) effort from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit 85.7 percent (6-7) from the foul line.
Kutztown connected on 42.9 percent (27-63) of its field goals with 45.8 percent effort (11-24) from three-point range. The Golden Bears hit 85.7 percent (12-14) of their free throws.
Kutztown had a 44-41 rebounding advantage. Shepherd forced nine turnovers and committed 12.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Shippensburg at 5:30 p.m. for Senior Night.
