LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Senior defender Sydney Witmer (Damascus, Md./Damascus) of the Shepherd University women's lacrosse team was named PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Witmer led the Rams to a 2-0 week as she recorded 12 ground balls, five caused turnovers, and three draw controls. Witmer had eight ground balls, four caused turnovers, and three draw controls in Saturday's win over Wheeling. Her eight ground balls and three draw controls are career-high efforts.
