Shepherd Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Millersville

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Ashlyn Simonetti scored five goals to lead Millersville (6-3, 2-2 PSAC East) to a 10-7 win over Shepherd University (4-4, 1-3 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at Ram Stadium on Wednesday.

Senior attacker Katie Paredes (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) paced the Rams with five goals. Freshman midfielder Jordan White (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) added a career-high two goals.    
                                           
Senior defender Sydney Witmer (Damascus, Md./Damascus) (6 GB, 3 DC, 2 CT), sophomore defender Luetta Seipp (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) (7 GB, 1 CT), senior defender Campbell Vitek (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) (3 GB), and freshman midfielder Grace Lyon (Port Tobacco, Md./McDonough) (3 GB, 1 CT, 1 DC) led the Shepherd defensive effort.

Rachel Keeney added two goals for the Marauders.

Millersville had a 7-4 lead at halftime.

Junior goalkeeper Destiny Rockwell (Glengary, W.Va./Musselman) recorded 12 saves for the Rams. KC O'Neill posted 11 saves for the Marauders.

Millersville had a 28-20 advantage in shots and a 22-18 advantage in shots on goal. Shepherd was 15-of-23 in clears and Millersville was 11-of-14. Shepherd had a 28-18 edge in ground balls, while Millersville had a 14-6 edge in draw controls.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host West Chester for a 1 p.m. contest.
