Shepherd Women’s Lacrosse Downed by Millersville

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Ashlyn Simonetti scored six goals to lead Millersville (9-5, 5-4 PSAC East) to a 16-4 win over Shepherd (4-9, 1-8 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at Millersville on Wednesday.

Sophomore midfielder Aubrey Harrison (Fairmont, W.Va./Fairmont Senior) led the Rams with a pair of goals.

Senior attacker Katie Paredes (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) and junior attacker Holly Poe (Sykesville, Md./Century) each added a goal.

Senior defender Sydney Witmer (Damascus, Md./Damascus) recorded a team-best four draw controls.

Mary Moraca had three goals and Rachel Keeney and Kaleigh Funke each added a pair for the Marauders.

Millersville had a 10-0 lead at halftime.

Junior goalkeeper Destiny Rockwell (Glengary, W.Va./Musselman) recorded eight saves for the Rams. KC O'Neill posted six saves for the Marauders.

Millersville had a 32-19 advantage in shots and a 21-7 edge in shots on goal. Shepherd was 12-of-17 in clears and Millersville was 18-of-20. The Marauders had a 21-10 advantage in ground balls and a 12-10 edge in draw controls.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Bloomsburg at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.
